Astrophysical Dynamical Processes, Vt 2003

Final Exam

Your grade on this course will be based on your participation (both in-class and through the problems that were given out) and on the final exam, which covers the following topics.

Topics

Form of the exam

The written part of the exam will consist of a report on five of the topics above, one from each group. It should contain not only a summary of what was covered in the lecture, but also some discussion of the topic: physical interpretation, applications, and/or examples (also a reference list of all sources you used, as in the example here). This report is due on Monday, June 2, 2003 at 5:00 p.m. sharp. Late reports will not be acccepted!

On Thursday, June 5 , you should come prepared to explain and discuss the contents of your report with us. (Materials you are allowed to bring with you: any handwritten notes you have done yourself, and optionally photocopied diagrams but not photocopies of text; check with one of the teachers if you are not sure.) You will also be asked to talk about the main points of one or two of the other topics that were not in your report.

Note: Before beginning your report you are allowed to discuss topics with other students but not to prepare the written material together. Reports that are too similar to each other will be examined in much more detail on June 5 in order to test how much of the work you did yourself.
