Prof. Dr. Elmar Träbert, Physics Consultant

I have worked with gas discharges, fast ion beams, ion traps, optics, spectrometers and detectors for visible/uv/x-ray light, with electronics, computers, vacuum equipment etc. for about three decades now, and I also have taught physics for most of the time. Based on this experience, I offer my services as a Physics Consultant.

Feasibility studies of experiments at the Bochum RUBION accelerator laboratory
Project planning, control and execution
Preparation and execution of experiments, for example in the research and development of ion beam techniques for microelectronic device modification
Data evaluation, analysis and documentation

As my present home base is Bochum, where I have spent most of my science carreer, I know the facilities, people and resources. The university has granted me permission to pursue my research interests, and the laboratory head has consented that I use the facilities as well. My availability for consultancy is not tied to semester schedules. I am well aware that industry can't normally wait for a student to finish a thesis, but wants answers on a much shorter time scale. As I am working on such projects myself, I intend to stick to short response times.
The DTL laboratory routinely runs an MeV-energy implantation service for industry (4" and 5" wafers). This reliable service is performed by the technical staff of the accelerator laboratory (Contact Dr. J. Meijer at RUBION).
