Astrofysikaliska strålningsprocesser, Vt 2003


Course description

Beskrivning: Introduktion till strålningstransport. Strålningsintensitet, flux, strålningstryck, etc. Strålningstransportekvationen och dess lösningar. Växelverkan mellan strålning och materia: emissions- och extinktions- koefficienter. Termisk jämvikt, statistisk jämvikt. Relationer mellan mikroskopiska och makroskopiska egenskaper. Einsteinkoefficienter. Icketermiska processer, t ex synkrotronstrålning. Exempel från olika astronomiska objekt och fysikaliska (strålnings-)processer i dem.
