The exhibition reflects on the traditional role of figure heads of founders, benefactors, ancient and prominent artists in commandeering displays in many old libraries and replaces them by (mostly anonymous) heads at eye level, as a befits a modern democratic learning community.

Kommen Sie zur Ruhr-Universität; von der Brücke zum Campus aus laufen Sie direkt auf die Universitätsbibliothek zu. Der Drehtüreingang ist halb rechts. Die Bibliothek hat lange Öffnungszeiten.
Drinnen nach links gehen (an der Glaswand und den Buchkontrollen außen vorbei), dort befinden sich Schließfächer (gegen Euro 2 Pfand), weitere Fächer finden sich im Keller (Treppe). Sie dürfen die Bibliothek nur ohne große Taschen und ohne Überbekleidung betreten. Die Ausstellung beginnt geradeaus in Sichtweite.
Ausstellungsbereiche: Rund um die zentrale Treppe bis zur Etage 6, in den Lernlandschaften (Nordviertel) auf den Etagen 2 und 1 sowie in Ecken auf den Etagen 1 und 0. Informationsmaterial liegt auf Etage 1 aus.
Das neuerdings von der RUB angemietete Gebäude Blue Square in der Innenstadt braucht jetzt auch Schmuck und wird in einer Vitrine den Weichholzkopf und einen eigenen "Kopf zwischen Büchern" zeigen. Zur Ergänzung zeigen 8 schlanke Holzfiguren "Du bist nicht allein ...". In die UB rückt die neue Figur "Sachte!" nach.

Für die letzte Ausstellungswoche zieht "Dickkopf" als Nr. 77 in die Zeitschriftenecke.

Come to the Ruhr university; on the bridge towards the campus, just go straight and you'll reach the university library.
Put your overcoat and bags into a locker (Euro 2 coin refundable deposit) and walk through the gates into the world of books and heads.
The exhibition space inside the gated area is publicly accessible on workdays until midnight. Opening hours on weekends are a bit shorter.
